# Forwarding Email Addresses and Slack

You can use a forwarding email address to send emails to yourself in Slack. Once active, Slackbot delivers emails to your direct messages. To set this up, complete the following steps:

1. From your desktop, click **your workspace name** in the top left
2. Choose **Preferences** from the menu
3. Select **Messages & Media**
4. Scroll down to select **Get a Forwarding Address**
5. Click **Copy** to save it to your clipboard
6. Paste the **Slack-generated address** as a new forwarding address in your email application
