# Perform adhoc testing on real devices

[Ad Hoc Testing](https://docs.sofy.ai/mobile-adhoc/performing-adhoc-testing-in-sofy) is the ability to perform quick and unstructured app testing using a real device . Here are the steps involved in performing Ad Hoc Testing in Sofy:

1. Acquire a real device from the Device Lab to perform your adhoc testing (see [Understanding Device Lab](https://docs.sofy.ai/devce-lab-management/understanding-device-lab)). Your App will automatically get uploaded to the device.
2. The mobile screen with your App installed is rendered on your browser and now you can start performing your adhoc tests.
